Build skills, not just a resume

True satisfaction does not come from the job description, but from the feeling of what you create. This is what makes the effort meaningful and success sustainable!

Introduce yourself in a few sentences..

My name is Georgi Dimitrov and I am the founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of Evrotrust, a company created with the mission to provide reliable and innovative digital solutions in the field of electronic identification and electronic signatures for the comprehensive digital transformation of society. I have over 25 years of experience in the field of information and communication technology law. I have led several working groups related to the drafting of Bulgarian and European legislation in the area of the legal aspects of information technology. I have consulted several governments on the creation of the legal framework for the new technological world.

Tell us about the philosophy and values of the company you currently represent?

Evrotrust was created to eliminate paper from people's hands and to make the provision of electronic services by the state and businesses entirely remote and electronic. We believe that this will lead to a comprehensive improvement of the well-being of society and the state, as it leads to millions of saved man-hours from queuing, transporting, and going from counter to counter, which people can invest in  creating gross domestic product. Ultimately, we believe that digitalization will make life easier for people. That is why we strive to create sustainable and secure technological solutions, which not only automate processes but transform the way citizens, businesses, and institutions communicate. And all this should happen through technology easily, conveniently, without any special knowledge or skills.

How long have you been developing your current company? What are the most valuable lessons that the events of this period have taught you?

The idea for creating Evrotrust was born a decade ago. During this time, we faced a number of regulatory, technological, and market challenges. We faced the need to create knowledge among people and businesses for a new world. The most valuable lesson I have learned is that trust is built slowly but lost instantly. Therefore, every decision we make, every line of code, every service is created with the user in mind and responsibility for the future.

If you personally had to write a job advertisement, how would you attract the attention of a future employee?

Evrotrust is not just a technology company; we are creating the infrastructure of digital trust. This means that every solution we develop affects thousands, sometimes millions, of people and organizations.

We are looking for colleagues who understand the weight of this responsibility and accept it as a calling. People who are not satisfied with "doing work" but ask "why" and "how can it be better". With us, critical thinking and the pursuit of development are highly valued.

In this regard, in a job advertisement, I would put a clear message that with us, work is not just a task, but an opportunity for a person to build something meaningful, to have the courage to fulfill their dreams and not to be afraid of failure.

What does your company do to organize a constructive and beneficial working environment for everyone? Do people in the team need to be friends?

Evrotrust is a company that is developing rapidly – this is exciting but also challenging. That is why we strive to maintain an environment where colleagues grow together with the company and to build a culture where they feel seen, heard, and encouraged – not just as specialists but as individuals.

My personal role as a founder is to ensure that regardless of the scale of the company, Evrotrust will remain a place where people believe in what they do and know that they are not alone.

What makes you enjoy going to work? How do you cope with difficult and stressful moments?

Evrotrust is a dream come true for me – to have an IT company that solves complex legal tasks with technology. Moreover, technology has always been my hobby. When a person turns their hobby into a profession, they stop working and have fun while working. That is why I get up with a smile, run to the office, and leave with a smile.

But the greatest pleasure is to see how an idea turns into a business, how it changes entire industries, how it solves the problems of people and businesses. That is why it is worth fighting for.

Like everywhere, there are difficulties with us too. Here the key is for a person not to be afraid of them, but to face them and solve them with due care. I would quote a thought from Elon Musk, who, when asked what the key to his success is, says – a person should not be afraid of difficulties and uncertainty because they come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing, so practically throughout their life, they have nothing to lose. They can only gain.

Solving difficulties is also a team task. The team is the one that collectively overcomes problems. The strongest support is to know that behind every challenge are like-minded people and friends who do not give up easily and find a joint solution to every problem.

What work model does your company adhere to – office or remote? What do you think about the possibility of giving options for flexible working hours, within which employees have greater freedom to balance their personal and work commitments?

Evrotrust is a digital company where creative people work – flexibility is in our DNA. That is why we follow a hybrid work model – from the office and from home. Efficiency comes from the freedom to choose how to be productive, and the results speak for themselves.

How do the continuous technological changes on a global scale affect your business?

The development of technologies is part of digital business. We not only adapt to them but often actively participate in creating changes. The new regulations on electronic wallets for digital identity, for the digitalization of business, regarding artificial intelligence, etc., are part of our daily work. Development does not stop for a moment, which makes the business so dynamic and interesting.

How important is hierarchy and what does it mean to you? What kind of communication do you advocate in your company?

Hierarchy is responsibility, not dominance. In Evrotrust everything is informal, friendly, and open. There is no banging on the table and “ordering”. Everyone is conscientious enough to pursue their tasks with due professionalism and flexibility. This creates an extremely healthy environment for creativity and initiative.

What is your career advice for all people building a strategy for their professional development?

I recommend young people to build skills, not just a resume. To constantly invest in themselves in knowledge, courses, and following engaging internet sources. To be ready to change – stagnation kills creativity. And most importantly – to seek a mission behind the work, not just a position. True satisfaction does not come from the job description, but from the feeling of what you create. This is what makes the effort meaningful and success sustainable.
