Introduce yourself in a few sentences..
Engineer with a passion for technology, economist with an interest in geopolitical processes, interested in the school of realism and power politics. I lead a team of 11 engineers in software development in the automotive industry, actively participate in the family business related to the production of fashion clothes for famous European brands. Father of 2 children. I enjoy swimming, skiing, hiking in the mountains.
What did you dream of becoming in your childhood years?
I had no dreams for specific realization, but my interest in technology has been since my teenage years. I believe that personality is built and changes throughout life, along with desires, motivation, and satisfaction from what we do. Focusing from childhood or adolescence on one area is not the right approach, as society, the economy, and professions evolve and change much faster than the duration of our professional life.
At what age did you earn your first money? Tell us an interesting story?
22 years old as a waiter.
What are the main factors and examples that shape us as individuals at an early age and form our interests? What is your recipe for curiosity, sources of information, and inspiration at this stage of our human development?
Parents, friends around us, in the past modeling clubs, sports, culture, and so on.
Children should try different activities and fields so that they can discover what interests them. However, it is also important for parents to guide and encourage dedication and patience when they find that the child is interested in a certain area, because otherwise, they can easily lose focus.
Has there been any significant change in your perceptions in more mature age regarding what motivates you to do or not do something?
Yes, as I mentioned in the first point, I have evolved 3 times and I am in the transition to the fourth change in my life. Now I am interested in personal farming and living closer to nature, a kind of exit from the synthetic corporate life. Working for myself or in small creative companies, regardless of the industry.
Whose decision was it where to pursue higher education and what to study? Was this decision correct, looking at it from today's perspective?
Mine, but also dictated by my parents and the economic situation in Bulgaria in the late 90s. Yes, the decision is correct from today's point of view. Perhaps I was late in returning to Bulgaria, which should have happened earlier.
Share more about your interests, knowledge, skills, and hobbies?
History, Geography, geopolitics, skiing, sailing (I own a small yacht), photography (I own a photo lab), swimming, I am a radio amateur and many others. Sometimes I wonder if I am spreading myself too thin, but I understand that everything I engage in brings me joy.
Would you change your profession today and which fields of activity capture your interest?
Oh yes, for example in personal farming and living that combines freedom of action and entrepreneurial spirit with innovation in small and medium enterprises.
They say that personal branding is everything that people say about you when you are not in the same room with them. What would you like to hear today?
Personal brand?! What is that? We are not products, but individuals. I do not like the equation of individuals with terms from the business and corporate world. Also, Woke culture that has been gaining such momentum over the last 20 years and distorts the real, natural way of life, values, family, upbringing...
Emotional intelligence, adaptability, and flexibility, as well as our soft skills are key conditions for success in recent years. How do you cope with the daily challenges of life to stay in good shape and mood?
I am emotional, and if I used to see it as a disadvantage, now I see it as part of my essence that makes me feel alive. Yes, as well as our friends from America, in meetings I do not hesitate to say that this is bullshit and fucking non sense when I think about it.
What are the most important conclusions you have made so far for maintaining proper communication considering the different characters of the people you meet daily – colleagues, friends, close ones?
One should not discriminate against people based on wealth.
What do you think about money? What is their influence on your life? What is your advice to people who often ask themselves questions related to money and how sufficient they are?
They are important, but you can also do with less of them. Regardless of whether you have money or not, it is important what you do with them for family, children, and free time... whether you enrich yourself with them through your hobbies and/or interests or just live for show.
What is the most valuable career advice you would give to people?
Experiment, take risks, change directions, do what your heart desires and your soul pulls you towards. Life is short, the office by itself is 'synthetic'. Break free from corporate shackles. Career is not success in the professional field of expression but the whole life, and most importantly what we have personally achieved in family, the upbringing of our children, for society, the friends we have, the time we spend with the people we love...
