Do you really like what you do?

Don't stop improving yourself to offer a higher quality product and service!

Introduce yourself in a few words..

My name is Dimitar Ivanov, I am involved in the Business Development of the only platform in Bulgaria for flexible benefits Re:benefit.

Tell us what are the philosophy and values of the company you are currently working for?

The company started 4 years ago as a technology startup with ambitions to overturn the status quo in the labor market in Bulgaria regarding social benefits.

Createda by people with long-term experience in the corporate world, the company is the ideal mix of a flexible team that makes extremely fast business decisions, and a company with typicalo corporate culture, client relationships, and market business ethics.

Currently, we serve over 120 clients with over 20 000 employees, and since 2024 we have expanded beyond the borders of Bulgaria, currently operating in Turkey, North Macedonia, Serbia, the United Kingdom, and looking towards new markets.

How long have you been working at the current company? What are the main motivating factors that keep you there?

I have been in the company for 2 years. I am part of a great team, developing a wonderful product that is highly valued by current and potential clients. In practice, we have no competitors in the market, which does not stop the company from constantly evolving and investing in improving the platform. We participate in various social initiatives, support great charitable causes, and have many and meaningful corporate partnerships. These are just a few of the reasons I feel at home in the company.

If you had to recommend the company to your acquaintances or friends, what would you share with them to attract their attention?

A product that is created to completely take away your commitments as an employer towards social benefits, while at the same time providing your employees with full freedom to flexibly determine on a monthly basis how and for what to use their budget. A product, that allows you to achieve maximum satisfaction of your employees, utilizing allocated funds in the most effective way.

What does your company do to organize a constructive and beneficial working environment for everyone? Should we be friends with our colleagues?

We often meet and talk about our product, how we are developing as a company, how we are perceived by clients. Everyone has the opportunity to freely express their opinion and give recommendations. Despite the well-defined hierarchical corporate structure of the company, the feeling is of a completely horizontal management model.

Frequent gatherings outside of work and many team buildings reinforce the friendly collegial spirit of the team.

Tell us a little more about your responsibilities in the company? What makes you enjoy going to work? How do you handle difficult and stressful moments?

The pleasure comes from the quality product and the quality of service provided to our clients by the entire team. The only difficulty in our work is to assist more companies we meet in their efforts to negotiate the necessary internal budgets for flexible benefits. Which in most cases is not a matter of desire, but of time for our partnership to happen. I missed another difficulty – to not let the lack of vibrant competition make us lazy and to constantly improve.

What work model does your company adhere to – office or remote? What are the advantages in your specific case and position?

IT our colleagues understandably work mainly remotely. The operations team is mainly in an office environment. Front-office positions are most often out for meetings with partners and potential clients, as well as participating in various corporate events.

What have you managed to seriously upgrade in your work over time in this company?

Understanding the product in detail, as well as anticipating what specific business problem it will solve for each specific potential client.

How important is the hierarchy and what does it mean to you?

It is important to have it and for it to be effective when there is a need for it to quickly and effectively solve a business case in the company. It is not important for it to be self-serving, hindering decision-making and having a desire for micro-management without delegating rights, but also responsibilities.

What is your career advice for all people who are building a strategy for their professional development?

Always ask yourself if you truly like what you do and the team you are in. If the answer is not positive – it’s time for a change.
