My name is Tsvetomir Stefanov – people know me as a professional in communications, business etiquette, and career consultant, but my close ones describe me as a passionate traveler and a person with constant curiosity about the world.

For you, traveling around the world is?

A source of inexhaustible inspiration and the best way to broaden my horizons and perspective, both in professional and personal terms.

How many different countries have you seen so far? Tell us an interesting story or highlights from your travels?

I have visited many countries, I cannot mention an exact number, but each one of them has left a unique mark on me. The strongest impression was made by Colombia and how there I realized how important the balance between work and personal time is, which changed my approach to daily life and my way of living entirely.

Do you like to revisit destinations? Give examples and motivation “for” or “against”?

Yes, especially if they have brought me new ideas or inspiration. I definitely support revisiting destinations, as each visit adds an extra color to the picture that a person builds for it, depending on who they are with, in what mood they are in, and at what stage of life they are.

What was your first trip that truly changed you as a professional and can be said, that changed your thinking?

It was precisely the previously mentioned Colombia that was the destination, which forever changed my way of thinking with all the tranquility and genuine joy of life that I encountered there. Definitely to this day, it remains my favorite place to visit.

What do you learn about yourself and your professional skills when you are in a new cultural environment?

In a new cultural environment, a person sees most clearly which of their skills are universal for application everywhere and which need additional adaptation. For myself, I learned, that listening, respect, and patience are key everywhere – they open doors, even when you do not speak the local language perfectly or have not researched all local specifics in advance. I also realized that good communication does not depend solely on words, but on attitude. In such an environment, a person steps out of their comfort zone, which gives a sense of security, and discovers the power of their adaptability and emotional intelligence.

Have you met people or ideas during your travels, that have influenced your career path?

Many times it has happened to me, that is why I sincerely believe that meetings with interesting people in new places are invaluable for a person's professional development.

Do you think that your travels help you expand your professional network? How?

I am convinced of that. Every trip is a new opportunity – a number of my most important professional contacts have been born informally – whether at a conference abroad, on a plane, even at breakfast in a hotel or at a cocktail event. In a global and connected world, the most valuable network is not the one you build purely formally, but the one, that you create with attention and personal involvement.

What skills do you develop the most when you travel, and how do they reflect on your work?

Flexibility, adaptability, and a better understanding of intercultural communications, which greatly helps in my work as a communicator and trainer in business etiquette and corporate protocol.

Is there a city or country that has inspired you to start a new business or project?

Without doubt, Frankfurt and Budapest are the places that have inspired me the most. The energy, culture, beauty, and opportunities that these two cities provide have repeatedly given me new ideas and ambitions to start personal projects.

When you are in an unfamiliar country, do you feel more-motivated or more-distracted? Why?

In an unfamiliar country, I feel extremely motivated because every new place challenges me to discover new perspectives and solutions. I discovered for myself, that the unfamiliar environment energizes me and opens my senses to new opportunities and inspiration, which I later apply in my work.

Are there destinations that act as a “restart” for your creativity and ambition?

Definitely, the warm destinations are my places for "restart" of creativity. Their atmosphere, culture, and attitude towards life always help me rethink my priorities and return to everyday life with a new charge.

How do you manage the balance between work and pleasure when you travel?

This is a question I resolve in advance, even when planning the respective trip. I set clear boundaries and priorities that allow me to work effectively without missing the enjoyment of the trip. If the trip combines work with pleasure, then I usually plan my time in such a way that I can fully dedicate myself to work tasks in the morning, while the afternoons and evenings are reserved for relaxation and leisure, diving into the local atmosphere.

How travel has changed the way you perceive the value of money?

Very good question! Traveling has shown me how to learn to value experiences more than material possessions. I saw how much more-valuable and lasting memories and experiences can be that a person acquires and keeps from these travels, compared to ordinary material things.

Do you travel to find new ways to earn money?

I don't travel often with such a purpose, but it happens that I come up with new ideas for business while traveling.

What lessons about financial independence have you learned from different economies and cultures?

I always say that the main lesson for financial independence comes from the way of upbringing in the family, then from personal experience and finally from learning from various sources. The truth is, that financial independence is impossible to achieve without discipline, persistence, and a clear goal. Otherwise, a person can learn a lot from various cultures on this topic - from german pragmatism, through japanese precision, to american entrepreneurial spirit, but in today's globalized world, these distinctions are increasingly blurred and remain in the past.

According to you, is it-is it better to spend on experiences than on material possessions?

It is definitely better to spend on experiences, than on things and material possessions, but on the condition that a person has already reached that stage of their career and personal well-being. I often share the statement that during the first half of their career, a person works for their affirmation and security, and in the second - for enjoyment and pleasure, already standing on a solid foundation, that they have laid earlier. At such a stage in my life, I believe that experiences are undoubtedly more valuable than material possessions.

How do you see the future of digital nomadic life?

I believe that digital nomadic life will continue to grow and become a new standard for work for many professions, especially with the entry of new generations into the active labor market. It offers flexibility and freedom, which are of utmost importance for the youngest generations.

Are there specific countries that are more favorable for work and investments?

Any country with a stable economy is particularly favorable for work and investments, especially if it offers good infrastructure and a stimulating business climate.

If you could choose one place in the world to develop your next big idea, where would it be and why?

It may sound strange, but I would choose Bulgaria again, as it is here that I am currently developing my new projects. But I do not rule out the possibility of moving to another country in the future that might inspire me for new ideas.

What are the destinations you would recommend to be visited and why?

I would recommend the countries of Latin America, for their unique culture, incredible views, a bouquet of flavors, aromas, colors and, not least, the warm and heartfelt people.

What is the career advice you would give based on what you have seen around the world?

Never stop being curious and seeking. Be open and unbiased towards the unknown – the world is dynamic, changing at an incredible speed, and success depends on how well we can adapt and continuously learn from different people, cultures, and situations we face every day.
