Introduce yourself in a few words..

My name is Radi Georgiev, and for over two decades I have been engaged in communication and media. In recent years, quite actively and with film distribution. I am the manager of a distribution company, a partner in PR Studio, and I am one of the creators of Sofia Summer Fest, the summer festival of Sofia. And in 2021, the first novel of mine “The Internship” was published.

How would you describe your career in a few words?

Dynamic, interesting, and with constant new things.

What was the most important choice that shaped your path In?

I cannot say that there is one choice that can be identified as the most important. At every moment along the way, we have to make decisions that guide us in one direction or another. But perhaps the moment I decided to start my own business is one of the most important, but such a decision cannot be made without having accumulated the necessary experience and being ready to take that risk.

What would you like to know at the beginning of your career, but no one told you?

I wouldn’t want to know anything in advance. It’s best for a person to learn things through their own eyes and own experience.

How can a person understand which profession is suitable for them?

When a person stops going “to work” and starts doing things they love and that  bring them the income they need.

Which skills according to Inyou will be key in the next 10 years?

The same ones that were key 10 years ago – the ability to work with people and in a team.

How to build a network of useful contacts without appearing interested?

Contacts are built over time. You never know which contact you made over the years will turn out to be useful for you in a professional or personal way. I do not believe in contacts that are made only out of interest.

What is the biggest mistake you have made in your career, and what did you learn from it?

I constantly make mistakes in my work and constantly learn from them. Fortunately, I am not a surgeon, and the mistakes in our work are not related to human lives, so I have always encouraged everyone we work with to make mistakes because it means they are trying new things and learning.

How to recognize a toxic work environment and when is it time to leave?

Any environment in which a person does not feel good and is not themselves should not be a work environment. When I worked in television and felt that things were not going well and that it was not my place, the decision to leave was quick. So, I would say that it is time to leave as quickly as possible when we do not feel well in our workplace.

What would you do differently if you could start over?

Absolutely nothing

How to maintain our motivation in times of stagnation?

It is always good for a person to be provoked with new things, to seek new challenges.

How to achieve a balance between professional and personal life?

It is very different for each person. There are people who manage to work from 9 to 5 and then totally switch off, and that is their balance. In my world, the professional and personal life have long been one whole because I do things I love.

When is it time to change our career, not just the job?

When we feel exhausted and what we do stops bringing us pleasure.

If you had to give only one piece of advice to people seeking success, what would it be?

Do not seek it. Success will come in one form or another, because it is different for each of us.

What is your definition of “successful career”?

One that, when you look back, you can see what you have achieved, to see what you have left behind.
