Every business has undiscovered potential waiting to be unlocked
· Ivelina Atanasova-Genchev

I started working at 15, by 25 I was already managing my first company, and today, at 41, I run businesses on three continents, following the model of the 4-day work week!
Introduce yourself
with a few sentences ..
My
name is Ivelina Atanasova-Genchev – a business strategist with over 25 years of
experience, who helps entrepreneurs and companies transform their business model,
build a recognizable brand, and achieve sustainable growth. Over the years, I
have participated in over 800 projects and initiatives of businesses around the
world, which increase their revenues by an average of 30% within the first six
months of our collaboration.
I
manage several successful business initiatives: “Business Clinic”, which
specializes in strategic marketing and digital business transformation,
directed towards public companies and enterprises preparing for IPO and
international expansion; newtrend.agency – an innovative marketing agency with offices in
Sofia and Brussels; Foundation “Digital Kids", focused on
digital education and innovations; and the movement “Women In Tech & Leadership",
supporting women in the technology sector.
Asa creator I am the founder of the BRAVO™ method and the author of
the eponymous book “The
BRAVO Method – Marketing Masterclass", as well as the
mentoring and certification program associated with it. Today it is recognized as
a working model by hundreds of entrepreneurs who seek a sustainable, conscious, and measurable
path to success.
Tell us what are the
philosophy and values of the company you are currently working for?
At the core
of everything I create lies the belief that every business has untapped potential waiting
to be unlocked. И в “Business Clinic"®️ и newtrend.agency we work with
companies that are ready for significant transformation – whether that means
transitioning from a small family business to a global company with a clear mission,
creating innovative products with high added value, or preparing
their business for a successful sale или публично предлагане.
Our
philosophy is based on three pillars:
1.
Holistic
approach to business – we believe
that true success comes when strategy, team, product, and clients work in
full alignment with the unique identity of the company.
2.
Social
engagement – we share
the belief that success gains meaning when it creates value for more
people. That’s why we invest in education and support for women in technology
and leadership.
3.
Sustainable
results instead of quick profits – we
build strategies that deliver long-term results and create a solid
foundation for continuous growth.
For us,
the greatest satisfaction is when our clients share: "Thanks to you, we not only
grew our business, but we discovered a new perspective and passion in
what we do."
Колко време работите
в текущата си компания? Какви са основните мотивиращи фактори, които
ви задържат там?
As
a solopreneur and founder of my own businesses, my path is different from
a traditional career. I started working at 15, by 25 I was already managing my first
company, and today, at 41, I run a businessи on three continents, following модела на 4-дневната
работна седмица.
What drives
me forward is not just financial success, but the opportunity to create
transformation. Every day I
see how my clients turn their challenges в strategic бизнес opportunities, техните идеи и услуги в
продукти, и the methodologies, които I have
developed help them build a business that not only generates profit but also
reflects their personal values.
Знам, че звучи
алтруистично, но ако нямаме мисия, която е по-голяма от нас самите, какво е
това, което ни дава смисъл да ставаме рано сутрин и да правим същото
нещо ден след ден, след ден, след ден …
For me,
the greatest success is to help entrepreneurs discover their unique
formula for balance between:
·
Business
growth that creates real value;
·
Personal
development that brings satisfaction;
·
Positive
social impact that goes beyond financial results;
·
Unique competitive advantage and customer experience that turns
their clients into brand ambassadors.
This is also at the core of the BRAVO™ method because I believe that when entrepreneurs succeed in
integrating these five elements in their business strategy, they not only build more successful companies,
but also create a healthier and more prosperous society.
This mission –
to help people discover their path to purposeful success – is what
inspires me every day. My Ikigai, my philosophy .. this and the opportunity to createm and manageyavam business organizations that contribute to the economic
empowerment of women through information and communication technologies and access
to quality education from the earliest childhood.
If you had to
recommend the company to your acquaintances or friends, what would you share
with them to attract their attention?
If you are looking for not just a consultant, but a
partner who will fully immerse themselves in your business and extract its
unique essence, then we would probably be a perfect match. Here’s what sets
our approach apart:
·
We do not offer template solutions – instead of imposing ready-made formulas, we develop
customized strategies based on the unique DNA of your business.
·
We achieve measurable results – our clients typically report a 30-40% increase in
revenue during the first year of our collaboration.
·
We focus on sustainable growth – we build systems that continue to work
long-term, not just while we are with you.
·
We uncover your distinctive voice – we help you communicate your value in a way
that resonates authentically with your target audience.
The most common feedback we
receive from our clients is: "Thanks to you, we not only developed
our business, but also discovered our identity and direction."
If you also want to rediscover
your passion for business and transform it into a source not only of revenue,
but also of personal satisfaction, let’s talk about how we can help you.
What does
your company do to create a constructive and fruitful working
environment for everyone? Should we be friends with our colleagues?
Oh yes – for me, the team and clients are family. This is perhaps the third main element in
my philosophy and in the "business branding" of Ivelina Atanasova-Genchev. I do not work with competitors and do not do anything
"at any cost".
I will share
a personal story that explains why I believe so strongly in this.
As a child,
when I was asked "what do you want to be?", I always answered
"a doctor". Medicine for me symbolized care, the opportunity to see
the person in front of you, to understand what they feel and to help them sincerely.
Life directed me
in another direction. I grew up during the difficult years of the transition – "Videnov's
winter", financial pyramids, privatization... I had to start working
very early, forgot about medicine and dedicated myself to economics and marketing,
developing the skill "to find solutions to the most complex business
problems".
At first,
I viewed this as a challenge, as a game in which I had to prove myself. Gradually, this approach evolved into "the BRAVO method"™️, and operational marketing in newtrend.agency was complemented by the strategic expertise of
"Business Clinic", including preparing companies for public
listing.
From the girl,
grown up in a marginal neighborhood in Varna, I became a global business consultant, working with companies in
their most critical moments – facing bankruptcy or significant
transformation like EUROBRIDGE and IPO on the stock exchange. Some are afraid of losing
their past, others – paralyzed by the uncertain future.
And it was then
that I realized – in those moments of strategic planning, coaching, working with
teams, investors, and the stock exchange, I am actually doing exactly what I dreamed of as
a child. I "heal" – not bodies, but emotions and businesses. I show care for
the company, the team, and the founders. I see their problems, fears, and hopes.
I offer empathy and support in transitioning to the next level, saving
or expanding the business.
In these
critical moments, I always remind myself: they are family. We are together in this. We will
overcome all challenges together. Because when your business is on the
edge, you need not just a consultant, but a "healer" – someone,
who knows exactly what to do, who does not just "come to work,"
but lives their mission, who sees beyond the numbers on the invoice. If you don't have
someone by your side with whom you share the same wave and values – you simply can't
manage.
I can't do it
for people who are "just employees" or for clients who are "just
clients." I do it with people I believe in, whom I love, and who are part of
my "inner circle" – maybe that's why the businesses we work with stay
with us for 10 years or more, and I have never allowed myself to work with
competing brands, even though this is not explicitly stated in our contracts.
Tell us
a little more about your responsibilities in the company? What makes you enjoy
going to work? How do you handle difficult and stressful moments?
I am business strategist by soul and holistic coach by
calling. My main role is to uncover
hidden value in every business and to create a roadmap for its
unlocking. This means a deep dive into the essence of the company – not
just understanding the numbers, but a true look at the people, processes, and products.
In
practical terms, I develop comprehensive transformational plans that
help businesses resolve their structural issues, increase their market
share, create real competitive advantage, and most importantly – reduce
their costs while increasing profits by at least 30% in the first six months of
our collaboration.
Behind this
"magic" is my team – a true "rapid response marketing ekip, and very soon the "power of AI” s BRAVO.AI. We are an organism that functions with
exceptional synchronicity – every professional understands their role, takes
responsibility for their areas, and aligns with the overall biznes i marketing strategy that we set.
This places
me in the role of a balancer between different worlds – between the diverse
characters in the team, between business goals and creative solutions, between
analytical and intuitive thinking, between our internal projects and those of
clients. As istinski Libra (zodiya), this continuous dance between
opposites keeps me balanced and motivates me every day to create
something more meaningful, more beautiful, and more innovative.
This dynamic
is my source of energy in difficult moments – when we hold businesses
up to the mirror of their true potential and guide them through the transformation,
which is often as exciting as it is challenging.
What work model does
your company adhere to – office or remote? What are the advantages
in your specific case and position?
We work
entirely remotely and not by chance – our team is spread across different
continents and countries. Our model is not just "working from
home," but a completely new approach to balancing professional and personal
life.
We do not have
fixed working hours – instead, we have built a culture of results and personal responsibility for projects and clients. This allows us
to offer every team member the freedom to organize their work
according to their personal priorities. In the team, we have parents with small children,
doctoral students finishing their academic research, and even colleagues who sledvali the love of their life to another continent.
Children
have always been my personal priority and therefore – a priority of the company. I believe that there is no more important investment than
the time dedicated to the next generation, and our working model allows parents to be truly present in their children's lives.
This works,
because I believe that professional life should be a natural extension
of our essence and values. When you build a team of responsible and internally
motivated individuals who love what they do, they do not need
external control structures. They find their rhythm and create their work
flow, allowing them to give their best when they are at the peak
of their energy.
The result?
Projects completed with love, not out of obligation, deadlines that are met not out
of fear, but out of respect for our common goals, and a team that works not with the clock, but
with their heart.
What have you managed
to upgrade the most seriously in your work over time in this company?
The most significant
and what I am most proud of is our working ecosystem, where the human,
personal, and individual do not compete with business results and responsibility
to the client – our working environment is based on three main principles (yes,
I hope in this part of the interview you already know me better and the fact that I can
build systems and structures).
First, I managed
to create an environment where mothers do not have to choose between their careers and their children. In our team, parenthood is not a barrier, but a value that enriches our business. I see how this brings not
only greater personal satisfaction but also a richer perspective in our work with
clients.
Second, we investin young talents without experience, but with huge
potential – people whom others would not
give a chance because of "lack of experience". Today they are exceptional experts and friends, with whom we celebrate not only business
successes but also their personal growth every day. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing someone spread their wings and fly higher than they ever believed they could.
And third, I created
a work culture where professional development is inseparably linked to
personal well-being. In our company, it is not just about people "being themselves" – here everyone becomes the best
version of themselves. I see how my colleagues discover their "super
powers" and use them not only to generate revenue and career development,
but also to find deep personal satisfaction.
In our team,
this is not just a beautiful vision or a corporate slogan – it is a daily
reality and a way of thinking that naturally leads to success and happiness,
turning them from a goal into a natural result of the work we love.
How important is
hierarchy and what does it mean to you?
If
your readers have read my book “The
BRAVO Method – marketing masterclass"
and are familiar with the theory of archetypes, they will recognize in the company the archetypes of the “Magician" and
“Wise Man" – both known for their independence and unconventional approach
to problems. These archetypes constantly seek optimization, improvement, and
new solutions – which explains my own attitude towards traditional
hierarchical structures.
In my
companies, there is no classical hierarchy. Instead, we have an organization
centered around strategy and mission. Even the positions we use
do not describe professional positions, but reflect the problems that each of us is called to solve.
My own
"position" for example is Business Strategy & Brand Experience. We have
specialists in Sales Copywriting, User Experience Optimization, Sales Funnels
& Marketing Optimization. We do not work "one for another," but
work together for the clients and for the vision we share.
Instead of
hierarchical conversations like "this is what I need by tomorrow", our assignments are more like "on which of the coming days until
Friday is it possible to do this?".
I always listen to the experts in the team about what is realistic and what is not,
whether a given approach makes sense and how we can improve it.
My short answer is: no, I do not believe in traditional hierarchies that divide people into
"bosses" and "subordinates." I believe in personal expertise,
in shared responsibility, and in collective intelligence. Our organizational
structure is closer to a living organism than to a pyramid – every cell
has its function, but all work in sync for the common success.
This creates
an environment where people do not compete for positions, but focus on
developing their talents and contributing to the common mission – which is
much more motivating and effective than any organizational scheme.
What is your
career advice for all the people who are building a strategy for their
professional development?
Let’s make it
three...
First,
start working before you choose your education. Early professional experience is an invaluable compass
for the future. When I started working at 15, it gave me an extraordinary
advantage at 18, when I had to choose what to study. Practical experience
allows a person to explore different fields without a long-term commitment and to
understand what they like, what inspires them, or conversely
– what they definitely would not want to work in. And this is not a theoretical approach, but
something that a person can feel in the real work process.
Second,
volunteer for causes that resonate with you. Volunteering is perhaps the most underrated
tool for self-discovery and career orientation. It allows you to try
various roles without the stress of financial pressure, to learn more about your passions
and to identify your personal mission. Often people choose a career,
focusing on "what they want to do", without considering
the more important question: "who do they want to do it for" and "what change
do they want to create".
Third,
use the first five years of your career to understand whether you are
"an entrepreneur" or "an employee" by nature.
There is
no better or worse path – there is only the right path for you. In this process of
self-discovery, modern tools like Neuro-Agility
ProfileAdvanced Plus™ are extremely helpful, revealing your innate talents and preferences through neurobiology.
This profile
has helped me immensely in understanding both my own essence,
and the people I work with. It shows how individual
neurological design functions – how we process information, how we react to stress, how
we solve problems, how we learn most effectively, and most importantly – where our strengths and
weaknesses lie, which type of the 12 intelligences is strongest for us, and even which
professions and positions are most suitable for us. Knowing these aspects allows you
to make an informed choice about your career path, long before
you have invested years in the wrong direction.
When
my own career started, I felt anxious for a long time because of
my own "inability" to follow rules, the inability to be
"calm", the constant search for new paths and approaches, and the habit
of constantly (sometimes even naively) asking the question "why". Today
I know that these are characteristics of people who carry the entrepreneurial spirit and
"dream of changing the world", but when I was 20, I believed that something was wrong with me and I worried that I could not "fit in" to the overall
picture and job description.
From over
25 years of professional experience, I spent exactly a year and a half as
an employee with regulated working hours and strict rules. Those were the most difficult 18
months of my life – both for me and for my managers, who stubbornly tried to "pin me down" in the corporate structure.
And here comes
perhaps my most valuable lesson: sometimes our biggest failures are just
deviations towards our true calling. I am grateful to my manager,
who one day could not take it anymore and fired me with the words: "I want to officially fire you,
not to part ways by mutual consent, so you can receive compensation.
Use this money to start your own business and stop pretending to be
something you are not."
I cried for a long time after those words, feeling completely
failed. But just a week later, I received my first professional recognition
– "Woman Entrepreneur of the Year" from the Center for Women in Technology.
Three weeks later, I had my first two clients, and a year later my media
won the award "Website of the Year" in competition with giants like
bTV and Nova. And my life took the
right direction.
This story
has taught me something invaluable – sometimes you have to lose your direction to
find your true path. You must have the courage to fail at what is
not yours, to discover what you were born to shine in.
The word
"believe" and the symbol of the butterfly have become my personal amulets over
the years, reminding me that within our essence lies a potential far greater than
our current form. It is no coincidence that the butterfly has also become a symbol of Women In Tech & Leadership –Bulgaria
- it embodies our philosophy that "we exist to give wings, so that
everyone can become the leader they deserve to be".
As cliché as it sounds, success is really not about
fitting into existing structures, but finding or creating that
space where you can unfold your most authentic essence. This belief defines every step I take and
decision – believe in yourself, you can achieve anything you allow yourself to
dream .. then let go of everything. Wait for the idea – the cocoon - to transform into a beautiful butterfly, whose wingspan
is greater even than itself.
