What is the most positive work trend in the last 5 years?
· Career Daily News

What are the expected work standards in a given company from a true professional?
Employees no longer dream only of higher salaries – they
want freedom
In the last five years, the world of work has undergone deep
transformations. Some of them came suddenly, provoked by global crises and
technological advancement. Others have been slowly but steadily emerging – like a change in
the values of working people. In a recent survey, we asked:
"What is the most positive trend/change in our
workplace in the last 5 years?"
The results speak clearly – the freedom to choose when and where
to work outweighs even high compensation and technological advancement.
- Options
for flexible working hours – 67%
- Higher
compensation – 21%
- Artificial
intelligence – 7%
- Digitalization
– 6%
How we interpret
the results: Work is no longer a place – it is a state of autonomy
The biggest change in modern work culture is
not in salary growth, nor in technological innovations, but in flexibility.
With 67% of the votes, flexible working hours unambiguously dominate
the survey, highlighting how significant the balance between professional and
personal life has become. After years of strict schedules and physical presence in the office,
people now value the freedom to arrange their time according to their own rhythm and
commitments.
The second place is taken by higher compensation –
with 21%. This shows that financial incentives remain important, but are no longer the leading
factor for job satisfaction. This can also be interpreted as a sign that employees are starting to view their work not only as a source
of income but also as a source of meaning, flexibility, and personal resilience.
Interestingly, technological achievements such as
artificial intelligence and digitalization gather only 13% of the votes.
Although they transform the way we work, they are still not perceived
as a direct "positive" impact on the actual experience of
the worker. This may be due to the uncertainty surrounding the impact of AI
on jobs, as well as the fact that the benefits of technology often
remain "behind the scenes".
What conclusions
can we draw: Flexibility is the new currency of professional happiness
If five years ago the conversation about "working from home" or
"asynchronous work schedules" was mainly held in IT or creative circles, today
this is a norm that employees not only accept but expect. Flexible
working hours are no longer a bonus – they are a standard for the modern professional.
Employers who understand this and create a culture of
trust and autonomy will be the preferred choice in the labor market. Conversely –
organizations that insist on outdated practices and control risk not only
losing talent but also appearing inadequate to the new realities.
This survey not only measures people's preferences. It
marks a deep value change – from a focus on money and technology to a focus
on human needs and freedoms. Flexibility is no longer an "extra". It is at
the core of a healthier, more productive, and more human work culture. And this
culture – is already here.
