Let's not forget that the personal brand is a long journey, not a campaign

People start to believe in you when they see that you are not just talking, but acting!
Introduce yourself in a few words..
I am an innovator by nature and a leader by calling – both by
soul and by education. I love starting from scratch, building, structuring, and
breathing life into new ideas. I am skilled at making quick and accurate
decisions in critical situations. I am not afraid of the unknown – I even seek it.
For me, commerce is not just an activity, but a passion in all its forms – from
direct sales to building valuable partnerships and brands. At the moment, I am the official representative for Bulgaria of the French company OuiLive –
a corporate gamification platform that is already changing the way people engage and develop in the workplace.
How would you define a personal brand and why is it so important
today?
For me, a personal brand is not a business card, but a trace. It is
the feeling you leave with people – even before they have spoken to you. It is
your reputation, built from words, actions, principles, blunders, victories, and
consistency. In a world where everything blends and anyone can “look”
good online, the personal brand is that filter that shows who you really are beyond
the profile picture.
Today it is important because people do not just buy services or
products – they buy trust. And when you have a strong personal brand, people are already
halfway to choosing you – as a partner, client, creator, leader.
How did you start building your personal brand? What motivates you?
I started building my personal brand before I even knew that
it was called that. I was 19 when I entered the business, without connections, without
support, but with a clear goal – to prove myself through results. I worked hard, learned
several things in parallel, and always took responsibility. People began to recognize me
by the way I work – quickly, focused, with character. This
was the first step towards my personal brand.
My motivation was clear – not to depend on anyone. To create
a name that carries trust, no matter where I enter. I wanted people to associate me with
specific qualities – stability, results, vision, strength. Over the years, I realized that
the personal brand is not vanity, but capital. When you have a strong name, people come to
you with opportunities, not with questions.
What are the most important elements of a successful personal brand?
For me, professionalism and consistency are the most important.
If you take a commitment – you meet the deadline. If the situation is not in your favor – you still act correctly. A true personal brand is built in difficult moments,
when people see how you react, not how you talk. It is also important to lead by
example – not just with ideas, but with actions, results, and respect for others.
How to find your niche and unique value?
The niche is discovered when a person stops comparing themselves and
starts asking the right questions: “What am I really good at?” and “What
comes naturally to me?” One of the first indications that you are in the right place
is when you unconsciously start asking yourself the question “When did the day go by?” The feeling
of meaning and ease is a sign that you are doing something that is connected to you. The niche is not
sought externally – it is crafted from within. And when you are passionate about your work, without it
weighing you down, it means you have found it.
Should the personal brand be built around personality
or expertise?
Both. With expertise alone, you are competent but
unrecognizable. With personality alone, you are likable but without weight. A sustainable personal
brand stands on expertise but is distinguished by personality. People remember not
only what you can do, but how you do it and who stands behind it.
What first steps would you recommend to someone who
is just starting?
First – to be clear about what you want people to associate with your name.
This is the starting point. Then – to start with small actions, without waiting
for everything to be “perfect.” And most importantly – not to get discouraged if it doesn’t work
out the first time. Sometimes you just need to change the approach, not the direction. The personal
brand requires consistency and flexibility, especially at the beginning.
What platforms are most suitable for developing a personal
brand today?
For me, this is extremely individual and depends on
the activity behind the personal brand. LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube –
each has its role and reaches a different audience. It is important not where everyone is,
but where your people are.
Personally, I find the transformation of LinkedIn most impressive – from a business card to
an active, interactive platform with a real network effect. And Career Daily News is
a great example of a new type of space that was missing – a platform that gives
a voice to professionals in an authentic way, without barriers and with a mission.
What role does authenticity play in the personal brand and how to
maintain it?
Authenticity is the backbone of the personal brand. This is
the recognizable handwriting that you cannot imitate or create with a tool – either you have it, or you don’t. For me, personal style and authenticity are the signature of
every successful brand. I believe that there is always something new to say, to show,
to give as a perspective. This does not exclude stepping on already working
models – the important thing is how you will adapt them and what you will add from yourself.
A true personal brand is not built with someone else's script.
How to create content that engages and builds
trust?
By starting from the need, not from the product. People do not
buy texts or visions – they buy solutions. But to reach the solution,
they first need to recognize their problem. Content that builds trust
does not push, but opens eyes. It creates awareness, shows understanding, and speaks in
a human language. Stories, real-life examples, and an authentic tone always
work better than a perfect marketing script. When you speak honestly and with
the intention to help, engagement comes naturally.
What are the most common mistakes people make when
building a personal brand?
One of the most common mistakes is trying to copy someone else's style –
to sound like someone else, instead of building your own tone. The next is
talking “about everything and nothing” – without a clear message, without specific value.
Many people also expect quick results and give up too early. Building
a personal brand requires consistency, discipline, and true inner
conviction – because if you yourself do not believe in what you are saying, you cannot
convince others.
How to deal with negative comments and criticism?
Negative comments and criticism do not scare me – on the contrary,
sometimes they are almost as useful as positive ones. If what you
offer as a service or product is truly valuable, negativity can easily be
countered with facts and value. And let’s not forget – algorithms “love” any
form of activity, including disputes and disagreements. For me, it is important to
make a distinction between constructive criticism and just noise. One helps you grow. The other
– just tests how stable you are.
How to avoid burnout when investing a lot of effort in your personal brand?
By not forgetting that the personal brand is a long journey, not a
campaign. Not everything has to happen at once. The best way to avoid burnout is to work in sync with yourself – to plan, but also to
leave time for breathing. Rest should be part of the schedule, not a last
option. These moments should be planned in advance and not subject to
cancellation. Physical activity is also key – for me, fitness is a way not
just to stay fit, but to unload my mind and restart my focus. When
we take care of ourselves, the personal brand is built more sustainably and with more inner
strength.
How can a strong personal brand lead to more
opportunities (jobs, partnerships, clients)?
A strong personal brand means that people already trust you,
even before they have met you. This saves time, opens doors, and elevates
the conversations to another level – you do not explain who you are, but talk about the essence. In my
case, many of the partnerships and clients come precisely because of this – they know
what they can expect and want to work with a person, not just with a service.
What are the best ways to monetize a personal
brand?
Monetization comes when you have built trust and
consistency. Most often, this happens through services, consultations, training,
partnerships, or creating products that reflect your expertise.
The personal brand opens opportunities, but you choose how to capitalize on them –
the important thing is to be authentic and sustainable, not just “another thing to sell.”
When is the right moment to start offering
paid services or products?
The moment does not come when everything is perfect – there is no such
moment. With a personal brand, there is no complete readiness, but that does not mean you should wait until the absurd final detail. It is important, however, before you start selling,
to be sure of what you are offering – to know your product or service well, to understand its real value, strengths and weaknesses, and
to be able to stand behind the price. If you cannot justify it yourself, the client
will not do it for you. True readiness comes not from perfection, but
from clarity and confidence.
How to maintain sustainability and long-term growth of
the personal brand?
With constant work, feedback, and readiness for change.
A sustainable personal brand is not a frozen image, but a living system. We must
continuously build on what we offer – to improve the service,
develop the content, talk to real people, not an ideal
“target.” To hear what works, what is missing, and to be ready to change it.
Meetings, communication, real contact with the audience and clients – this
keeps the brand alive and relevant, not just visible.
What habits and discipline are needed to build
authority?
First and foremost – structure. Especially when you start alone, without
a team, focus is crucial. If you do five things at once every day, none
will reach a real result. For me, authority is built with stable
habits – clearly structured time, punctuality, consistency, and the ability to finish your tasks. People start to believe in you when they see that you are not just
talking, but acting – calmly, on time, and with rhythm. This does not happen with one
campaign, but with daily decisions.
Which personalities with a successful personal brand inspire you and why?
Two people who truly inspire me with the way they
have built their personal brand are Georgi Malchev and Nadezhda Myashkova.
Georgi Malchev is an example of a strategic yet completely
authentic presence. He communicates with clarity, discipline, and constant value
– without unnecessary showiness. The way he develops his expertise in
marketing and shares it with the audience inspires trust and respect.
Nadezhda Myashkova is a person with exceptional inner stability,
a leadership presence, and depth of thought. She does not just talk about important topics
– she lives them. Her personal brand is strong because it carries clarity, softness, and
unyieldingness at the same time – a combination that is rarely found.
What three specific things can people do today to improve their personal brand?
·
Express yourself authentically and align your personal style with the main message
of the brand.
·
Update your visual identity – with professional photos and presentation that
reflects the value you carry.
·
Create natural, personal content that shows who you are and what you
stand for – beyond standard PR formulas.
