Introduce yourself in a few sentences and brief highlights
from your career development so far?
My name is Magdalena Ivanova and I am a co-founder and manager
of Executive Content. I have over
15 years of experience in media and as a PR expert. I have mainly worked in business media,
including as the editor-in-chief of the Bloomberg TV Bulgaria website. I also have experience as a
PR expert in two banking institutions, and in recent years in the field of
healthcare.
What motivates you to accept this new role and what are
your main goals in the position?
The motivation to participate in the creation of the company and
the development of the business is related to that feeling that you are doing something meaningful,
which at the same time brings you pleasure. From a more practical point of view, the goal
is to offer a niche service that helps anyone who seeks us to position themselves as an expert in their field, saving them time by helping them
create their presentation or editing a report, interview, or other type of text.
Our goal is to be the secret ace in the back pocket of every manager by
turning their ideas into meaningful, effective, and easily understandable messages.
What
professional or personal qualities do you think will helpyou succeed in
your new position?
I hope that the expertise I have along with
the discipline and the desire to keep up with all the new trends in the field of
communications will help things happen smoothly.
What
challenges do you expect to face and how do you approach change management?
The challenges at this stage are related to reaching the right people who need a communication service of the type
of Thought Leadership. Change management
primarily requires communication to the people with whom we work, which can be not
only colleagues but also partners. One of the reasons changes happen slowly
or do not happen is in the way of thinking. Therefore, when it is realized that some
change needs to be made, the challenge is not to take too long to take specific actions towards adapting the
organization and people to the changes that have occurred. The team can handle
relatively easily a given change only if it is well explained and they are involved in
it. So we come back to the point where we need to clarify our messages and
what we want to achieve with them.
What is your approach to teamwork and
building a strong internal culture?
As a startup relying on a small team, building a
strong internal culture focuses on trust, transparency, and shared responsibilities and goals. We believe that this way everyone feels valued and part
of something bigger.
What would you
like people to say about you
in the company after a few months?
I hope they are still motivated to continue developing our common cause. And if I have to specifically point out what I would like people to say is that I am a valued colleague for them.
