Introduce yourself in a few
words..
My name
is Maya Pancheva, 22 years old, from the town of Etropole. Currently, I am almost a
graduate political scientist and marketer. I believe
in the power of words, ideas, and personal example. I combine a scientific approach with
practical intuition and daily build bridges between people, communities, and
causes.
How would you define personal branding and why is it
so important today?
Personal branding is the way people perceive your
value, authenticity, and expertise. In a world of digital saturation, it is
the filter that helps us stand out – not through noise, but through added value.
How did you start building your personal brand?
What Dmotivated you?
Everything started with the need to give a clear message about what I can
and why I do it. It continued with the awareness of
the consequences of lacking a personal brand and recognizability. I started
to write, participate in events, and share my experience. I am motivated by the desire to
be helpful and to inspire others to find their expression.
What are the most important
elements of a successful personal brand?
First and foremost isauthenticity, because you are who you are, a unique and irreplaceable
human being. Second is consistency and perseverance to prove it. Third is clear expertise, because in such a digitally
polluted world it is important how and whether you manage to add value and audibility to
your work and knowledge. Last but not least is the ability to inspire. One of the highest human qualities - to draw
out the best in people and show them what they can do.
How to find our niche and unique value?
By looking at the intersection of what we
can do, what we love, and what others need. The niche is not invented – it is revealed when we act with inner clarity. In my case - social issues made the glue.
Should the personal brand be
built around personality or around expertise?
Both. Personality brings trust, expertise –
value. A sustainable brand unites the human with the professional.
What first steps would you recommend to someone
who is just starting?
- Describe what you can do and what value you provide.
- Choose a platform where you can express yourself.
- Be consistent – people believe in consistency.
What platforms are most suitable for developing a personal brand today?
- LinkedIn – for professionals
- Instagram – for visual and emotional impact
- Facebook – for building a community
- Podcast / blog – for in-depth content
What role does authenticity play in personal branding and how to maintain it?
Authenticity creates trust. It is maintained with honesty,
consistency, and the ability to say “this is me” – both when you are strong and
when you are vulnerable.
How to create content that engages and
builds trust?
- Speak from personal experience
- Solve real problems
- Use clear, human language
- Ask and answer – dialogue is key
What are the most common mistakes people make when building a personal brand?
- They copy others
- They exaggerate
their image
- They only talk about
themselves
- They expect
results without consistency
How to deal with negative comments and criticism?
With a filter: constructive – we accept, malicious –
we ignore. Every brand should have an internal support and clarity “who it is for” and “who it is not for”.
How to avoid burnout when
investing a lot of effort in your personal brand?
With clear boundaries, time for rest, and a genuine connection with yourself. You don’t need to be everywhere. Be where you are useful and happy.
How can a strong personal brand lead to
more opportunities (jobs, partnerships, clients)?
Trust creates connections, and connections – opportunities: new
jobs, partnerships, clients, invitations. When people know who you are, they come to you themselves.
What are the best ways to monetize a
personal brand?
- Online courses
- Consultations
- Selling digital products
- Books, podcasts, events
- Branded partnerships
When is the right time to start offering paid services or products?
When you have already provided value for free and built
trust. The paid service is a natural next step, not a surprise.
How to maintain sustainability and long-term
growth of the personal brand?
With vision, flexibility, and habits. The personal brand is not a sprint, but a marathon. Keep developing, adapting, and
never stop learning.
What habits and discipline are needed to
build authority?
- Writing/speaking every week
- Reading and learning daily
- Regular feedback from the audience
- Consistency in communication
Which personalities with a successful personal brand inspire you and why?
For me, the greatest
motivator and teacher has always been Stephen Hawking. With his unwavering spirit, quick
mind, and exceptional resilience.
What three specific things can people do today to improve their personal brand?
- Write a short bio that clearly states who you are and what you offer.
- Share useful experiences on social media.
- Think about what content you can create regularly.
