Experience is the best textbook

Introduce yourself in a few sentences..

Journalist, curious, good and happy person - that's how I can describe myself in one sentence. Recently, people have come to know me in my new role as a reporter for the News at NOVA. 

Kwhat did you dream of becoming in your childhood years? 

An actress. But I never dared to apply to NATFIZ. I haven't given up on that dream, maybe one day it will come true. 

At what age did you earn your first money? Tell us an interesting story?

After I graduated from my first higher education. 400 leva. I thought I was learning and that my "salary" at that moment was the experience. Money didn't matter, I wanted to learn a craft, reflexes, and professional ethics.

What are the main factors and examples that shape us as individuals at an early age and form our interests? What is your recipe for curiosity, sources of information, and inspiration at this stage of our human development?

Family, environment, the people we meet. A person learns from example. My interests were born from the people who noticed the potential in me and encouraged it over the years. As for curiosity, you can't be a journalist if you're not curious; everyone knows that this is not a 9 to 5 job. I also try to approach new things with "why not" and not dismiss things just because they are unfamiliar or seem complicated. 

Has there been any significant change in your perceptions in a more mature age about what motivates you to do or not do something? 

Of course. I have said it many times - I like people who constantly develop and, accordingly, change. The only constant is change. Right? 

Whose decision was it where to pursue higher education and what to study? Was that decision correct, looking at it from today's perspective?

I graduated in Bulgarian Philology, and then in Political Management. At that time, I was a parliamentary reporter and thought it would prepare me more. But no textbook prepares as well as experience can.

Share more about your interests, knowledge, skills, and hobbies?

In my little free time, I exercise, ride a bike, and my favorite hobby is traveling. It energizes me.

Would you change your profession today and which fields of activity capture your interest?

I shared that I love to change and grow. So, if I have to be true to myself - I don't rule it out. The truth is that our profession requires so much dedication that you can't practice it if you don't love it. I also love it, although sometimes I get tired and it shows. 

They say that personal branding is everything that people say about you when you are not in the same room with them. What would you like to hear today?

Everyone perceives us to the extent of their personal perception. I strive for no one to ever have the reasons to call me a bad person; for the rest, I ignore it because whatever I hear about myself is more likely to reflect the person saying it than me. 

Emotional intelligence, adaptability, and flexibility, as well as our soft skills, are key conditions for success in recent years. How do you cope with the daily challenges of life to stay in good shape and mood?

With "bad days" I try to cope like birds in a storm - I try not to fly and wait for it to pass. I wait for sunny days again. 

What are the most important conclusions you have made so far about maintaining proper communication considering the different characters of the people you meet daily - colleagues, friends, close ones? 

I have two rules in communication - never to offend anyone because insults are remembered and weigh heavily, and the second is - when I see that someone is good at what they do or looks great - to tell them. People need to hear more good words. 

What do you think about money? What is their influence on your life? What is your advice to people who often ask themselves questions related to money and how sufficient they are?

I think I have seen the happiest people in the poorest neighborhoods, who despite the lack of money somehow manage to walk their path with dignity and a smile. But, of course, I believe a person should develop, learn, and strive to be more and have more every day. Progress brings incomparable satisfaction. 

What is the most valuable career advice you would give to people?

For every profession, it may be different. From my first working day, I am a journalist, and in this profession, my advice is that anyone who embarks on this path should know that they need to be very prepared, very persistent, and very curious to ultimately be good at what they do.
