My mission is for people to hear and like their voice

What did you dream of becoming in your childhood?

I was 10 years old when I read “Witness for the Prosecution” and then several more books by Agatha Christie. After that, I searched for absolutely everything published as crime literature and novels about spies, including the supplements of the magazine Anteni and the magazine Cosmos on the subject. I wanted to be a criminologist or a detective. And as a journalist, I managed to undergo training in investigative journalism. One of my favorite novels is “The Day of the Jackal” by Forsyth.

 

At what age did you earn your first money? Tell us an interesting story?

I was a student, back then there were brigades, we weren’t paid, but on the last brigade in 10th grade, they gave us 70 BGN after we sorted special bulbs for tulips for two months during the summer. With that money, in the autumn, I bought a modern wool coat in black and blue, a very elegant cut. My first job as a specialist was during my student years. A family, the Zemyarski family from the town of Rakovski, wanted to do business with products from a large factory in Bruntal, Czech Republic. They needed a translator and I was the only one who dared among the second-year students of “Czech Philology” to travel with them there. I must have been quite self-confident, I took a special dictionary with technical terms and throughout the journey, which was a separate adventure, I read, read. The very incident at the negotiations deserves a whole story with an unexpected ending. Especially our return through Hungary and Romania on a winter night…

 

What are the main factors and examples that shape us as individuals at an earlier age and form our interests?

The family environment, values, relationships, interests, that is the foundation. Books, a rich library at home has been the basis for my curiosity about the world and the development of my imagination. There is probably also genetics. My great-grandmother and great-grandfather were among the first teachers in the new Bulgarian state after 1878.

 

What is your recipe for curiosity, sources and wells of information and inspiration at this stage of our human development?

Everything, everyone, everywhere is interesting. From a short trip or walk in the park to a long journey. From the people who are with us every day – family, close ones, with whom we have the habit of sharing our day, interesting meetings, incidents, to those we meet by chance and can make something more than just greet them or smile at them. Everyone is a source of information, as long as you can read it, decipher it. If we are talking about established authorities, I read different authors to have a more complete picture, I don’t miss books and I follow the lectures of Jonathan Littel, Yuval Harari, Jordan Peterson, Tatyana Chernigovskaya, Boris Akunin. I have a special preference for Dr. Bruce Lipton, whose seminar I attended.

 

Has there been any significant difference in your perceptions in a more mature age about what motivates you to do or not do something?

Oh, yes. I am different from Radomira at 25, at 45 even. With the years, a person really settles down and knows completely – what is meaningful and what is not. And for me, meaning is the engine of life. And not having a backup plan when you rush into a task means that you are fully committed. Otherwise, at some level, you predetermine loss. And in the end, everyone strives for results, for success. This makes us satisfied with our work.

 

Whose decision was it where to pursue higher education and what to study? Was this decision correct, looking at today’s date?

Mine. Completely consciously and very much desired. Even in ninth grade, I was aware that I wanted to continue studying. Maybe law, but it happened that bohemistics chose me  (we literally had a draw – Czech or Polish language at the university) and I was very happy with my student life. This quite complex language from a phonetic and grammatical point of view helped me in articulation and diction, which later became my profession. Life has brought me many surprises with my university major. Recently, I spoke Czech with my hairdresser Krasi. It turned out that she lived in the Czech Republic as a child and that’s how we started talking about what she remembers. Basically – How are you? What are you doing? In the past, I did interviews with Czech directors who came to us during the Sofia Film Fest. And my top incident is with Emir Kusturica, with whom I spoke in this language. It turned out that he studied with Otakar Vavra. But that is a story for a separate novel.

Share with us more about your interests, knowledge, skills, and hobbies?

I have complete coverage between hobbies, interests, and professional activities.

I don’t feel exactly like work, what I do. I even get too carried away, I don’t set boundaries for time, for days, which is not entirely advisable, as it is useful just to wander a bit and just like that, without a mandatory task. But I think it is also very important, besides what, and with whom we share. I am happy that we have complete coverage of interests and tastes with my husband, composer Eftim Chakurov. We love to go to concerts of truly singing performers and artists of world renown. The last two very exciting ones were by Laura Pausini and Robbie Williams. We enjoy exhibitions, we don’t miss the paintings of Darina Yaneva and Andrey Yanev, who are our friends. When I have the opportunity, I swim.

Would you change your profession today and which areas of activity capture your interest?

I am so interested in what I do, and I have many more unfulfilled plans with Successful Voice. At the moment, I am writing a book “The Voice that Heals” with alternative techniques for working with the voice. I want to create a Center for voice work..

They say that the personal brand is everything that people say about you when you are not in the same room with them. What would you like to hear today?

I am happy that every day I hear about myself that I am a professional in my field. Many people write to me with gratitude for what they have achieved with my help. They even send me gifts. Recently, a woman called me with a recommendation because they told her that I am a very serious person. And I feel that I am in my place.

Emotional intelligence, adaptability, and flexibility, as well as our soft skills are key conditions for success in recent years. How do you cope with daily life challenges to stay in good shape and mood?

I drink special tea from the herbs collected in Gyovren, Rhodopes. There is a person who takes care of this – Rejep Bashov. I believe in the power of intention, and he, when he picks them and sends them, does it with love and blessing. At every possible opportunity, I try to walk as much as possible and for as long as possible. I try to completely change the environment, air, and food for one month during the summer. I love plants and I am happy when from a few small sprouts, a wonderful garden grows.

What are the most important conclusions you have made so far about maintaining proper communication considering the different characters of the people you meet daily  – colleagues, friends, close ones?

The honesty of intention.

What do you think about money? What is their influence on your life? What is your advice to people who often ask themselves questions related to money and how sufficient they are?

Money comes when you are truly useful, says the person I fully trust for the courage to be an entrepreneur. We live in times of many temptations and competition, and this is more of a problem for our children, my generation has learned to enjoy the small beauties and small acquisitions – cool jeans, Toblerone😉you know what I mean.. But yes, over-supply spoils, and a person must be able to cope with all kinds of situations, including accepting lack as a challenge, as something temporary, as an obstacle that must be overcome to be happy later, from the fact that you have managed and will not give up at the next difficulty. Effort is the most stimulating for our development. Just like in public speaking. Fear is overcome not by running away, but by entering the battle and taming it. But these are techniques that are practiced on the ground, in the oratory club or on air, in media, podcasts, etc.

What is the most valuable career advice you would give to people?

If everyone first thinks of the other, and not of themselves, we will be a prosperous society. The stability of the community also depends on economic prosperity, and the more entrepreneurs there are, the stronger our economy will be, the more opportunities there will be for everyone. I believe that not all of us are equal, but we can all be rich. When we don’t see our work as a means of livelihood, but much more – as a mission, a cause, a meaning that fills us and we are useful.
