Do not react emotionally, but with understanding and consistency

When quality speaks Bulgarian!

Introduce yourself in a few words..

My name is Pavel Tsvetkov and for more than three decades my life has been connected with the world of glasses - their design, production, and development as part of the culture of style and quality. I started in 1991, driven by a desire to create products that combine design, functionality, and identity. Over the years, my path has taught me that sustainable success is built not only on skills and professionalism but also on perseverance, curiosity, and respect for the people you work with.

How would you define the personal brand and why is it so important today?

For me, the personal brand is an extension of the person himself - his character, values, and way of thinking, turned into something visible and real. In my case, my personal brand merges with what we have been creating as a family for more than three decades - glasses, behind which stands my name, taste, and understanding of quality. Every pair of glasses, every line carries a piece of me, of the way I look at detail and at the person who will wear them.

Today, the personal brand is extremely important because people seek authenticity. They feel when something is made with care and when there is a person behind it who believes in what they do. The personal brand is not a logo or a vision, but trust built over the years.

How did you start building your personal brand? What motivates you?

In the early 90s, I started as an importer of foreign brands of glasses. At that time, the market was just developing, and Bulgarian customers were looking for something new and different. However, it didn't take long for me to realize that Western models do not always meet the characteristics, style, and needs of people here. That’s when the idea came to create my own brand - one that reflects the local culture, aesthetics, and sense of comfort.

The first collection was modest - about 15 models made with a lot of enthusiasm and desire. Today, a collection includes over 100 different designs, but the philosophy remains the same: to create glasses with character, where there is a balance between design, quality, and identity.

What are the most important elements of a successful personal brand?

A successful personal brand is built on a few simple but timeless things: consistency, authenticity, and trust. These are not beautiful words, but daily practice. People feel when real people stand behind a product, project, or idea, who believe in what they do.

A very important part of this process is the team we work with. Over the years, I have realized that this brand is not just personal - it is supported by people who share the same values and beliefs. My team is not just colleagues, but like-minded individuals who put the same attention and care into every pair of glasses. I believe that it is this cohesion and common work culture that gives depth and sustainability to everything we create.

How to find your niche and unique value?

In my opinion, the niche is not found immediately - it is discovered through experience, observation, and the patience to hear what is truly missing around you. At first, like many people, I started with importing foreign brands, but over time I realized that the Bulgarian consumer has different needs and tastes. This observation led me to the decision to create something of our own - a product that reflects our reality, the people, and the way we live. The niche comes when you find a balance between what you can do best and what the world around you needs.

Should the personal brand be built around personality or expertise?

I believe that a strong personal brand cannot exist solely on one or the other - there needs to be a natural merging of personality and expertise. Professional knowledge and experience are the foundation on which trust is built, but it is the personality that gives this experience meaning, style, and a human dimension.

What first steps would you recommend to someone just starting out?

The first and most important step is to know yourself - what you can do, what you believe in, and what you want to create. Without a clear sense of direction, every idea remains just an intention. The second is not to be afraid of small beginnings - they teach discipline, perseverance, and respect for the process.

When I started, I didn't think in categories like “personal brand” or “market strategy”. I only thought about how to do something better today than yesterday. This is a mindset that I still recommend to every young person - focus on quality, not on quick results.

What platforms are most suitable for developing a personal brand today?

Today, the opportunities are many - social networks, professional communities, specialized media. But in my opinion, the platform is not the most important thing, but the way we use it. A true personal brand is not built from presence, but from content - from what you share, how you say it, and how much it is connected to your identity.

Of course, social networks provide the opportunity for direct contact with people and for a more personal presentation, but it is important that everything that comes from your name carries the same values that you express in real life. I believe that authenticity is stronger than algorithms.

What role does authenticity play in the personal brand and how to maintain it?

Authenticity is the foundation of every strong personal brand. It is built when there is complete correspondence between words and actions. In my case, this means staying true to the idea with which I started - to create glasses with character and attention to detail.

How to create content that engages and builds trust?

Content must have meaning and honesty. People feel when you share something because you believe in it, and when you just “have to say it”. For me, good content shows the process - the path, the efforts, the thinking behind what you do, not just the final result.

What are the most common mistakes people make when building a personal brand?

One of the most common mistakes is the attempt to impress, instead of showing the true value. When we started with the glasses brand KWIAT, I saw how other brands focused more on the vision and quick results, rather than on quality and detail. The personal brand is built with time, perseverance, and care for every product and every customer.

How to deal with negative comments and criticism?

The key is to separate constructive criticism from mere dissatisfaction. In my experience with the glasses brand, I have always tried to hear what is behind the comment - whether something can be learned, whether the product or process can be improved.

It is important not to react emotionally, but with understanding and consistency. Criticism can be a valuable tool for growth if approached objectively.

How to avoid burnout (burnout) when investing a lot of effort in your personal brand?

Burnout happens when a person forgets why they do what they do. For me, the key is the balance between passion for work and self-care. In the process of building my glasses brand, I have always tried to plan my time, trust the team, and not carry all the tasks solely on my shoulders.

It is also important to enjoy the process - when you see how ideas come to life and how people appreciate your work, it gives energy and motivation.

How can a strong personal brand lead to more opportunities (jobs, partnerships, clients)?

The personal brand does not just sell a product or service - it sells trust and reputation. People prefer to work with someone they feel is consistent, reliable, and authentic. This trust leads to new opportunities because when your brand clearly speaks about your values and standards, people know what to expect and want to be part of it.

What are the best ways to monetize a personal brand?

Monetization of the personal brand comes naturally when it is built on trust, expertise, and authenticity. In my case, the glasses brand is the way my personal identity and professional experience turn into a real product that people value and seek.

The most successful ways to monetize are not just sales, but creating value: through partnerships, joint projects, consultations, or products that reflect your principles and qualities. When people feel authenticity and expertise, they are willing to invest not only in the product but also in the relationship and trust that stands behind it.

When is the right time to start offering paid services or products?

The right time is when you are ready to offer value behind which you stand with your name. Personally, I first observed the market as an importer of glasses and understood what was truly missing and what would be useful for people. This gave me the confidence to create our own brand and offer a product that meets the needs of customers and reflects our style.

How to maintain sustainability and long-term growth of the personal brand?

In my experience with the glasses brand, this means not deviating from the principles and standards I set at the beginning - quality, detail, and care for customers.

Another key element is the team - the people who share your values and help you realize them. They are the foundation that keeps the brand stable and strong over time.

And finally, growth also comes from the willingness to learn and adapt without losing your identity. There are always new trends and opportunities, but the personal brand remains sustainable when the foundation is clear, the values are strong, and the actions are consistent.

What habits and discipline are needed to build authority?

Planning, taking responsibility, and being willing to learn from mistakes.

Which personalities with a successful personal brand inspire you and why?

I particularly value Bulgarian producers who create quality products with identity, despite the limitations of the market and competition.

These personalities show that sustainable success comes not from following trends or foreign ideas, but from the ability to create value that carries your signature and loyalty to your principles.

What three specific things can people do today to improve their personal brand?

Define your identity and value.

Be consistent.

Surround yourself with the right people.
