Don't take yourself too seriously, but take your work seriously

My name is Sofia Bobcheva. I am a working mother. Actress. I find it hard to balance work with personal life and my most important role as a mother, but finding balance is, in my opinion, the path to success.

I went through different stages in my childhood, where I wanted to practice different things, starting from a cleaner, going through Miss World, detective, psychologist, and finally actress, in which I wanted to practice various things.

I got my first fee as a dancer in a nightclub. Considering completely normal dressed dancers. My friends were professional dancers in a disco, I went to have fun in the disco and watched them dance and I got so into it that they offered me a job, I agreed and started making money, which I see nothing wrong with, as do my parents. I say this because I know what immediately comes to people's minds when they hear dancer in a disco. I have never danced professionally, but I knew how to have fun and convey that positive emotion to people, that's why I was chosen, in my opinion. I got my first fee as a dancer in a nightclub.

For me, an example in childhood and a source of experience and knowledge are definitely my parents. The upbringing they gave me. My mother is a literature teacher and artistic director of the vocal group Vrabcheta, as long as I can remember she has worked two jobs. And she always found time to take me with her to watch rehearsals or lessons she teaches at school. My father is an aviation engineer and took me with him on business trips since I was little and I visited many countries, many of which were exotic. In this sense, it is impossible for the upbringing and what my parents showed me not to have influenced me in every way. Even their attitude towards work, both of them are workaholics. I see it in myself too. It's not very nice. For me, it's my parents.

I have always been motivated by the inner desire, the interest in the new, inspiration, and curiosity. Just like before, so now. The inner desire, the interest in the new, inspiration, and curiosity. If something is not interesting to me, I don't engage with it.

The decision was mine to become an actress. It came at a late high school age. My mother supported me, my father was more worried that this profession is not well paid and was not sure if I would succeed in it. I applied twice to NATFIZ, I was accepted the second time and thank God, because that way I ended up in Stefan Danailov's class. As they say, every misfortune is for the best. I suffered a lot when I was rejected the first time, but I studied journalism for a year at Sofia University and I categorically realized that I am not cut out to be a journalist. For me, the profession of an actor is the only thing I could do, because I turned my hobby or passion into a profession, work, which they say is the greatest happiness. Whether it turned out for the best, only the audience can judge, the decision was mine to become an actress and the profession of an actor is the only thing I could do.

I love to travel, it is my hobby and through my profession, I have the opportunity to do it a lot. I love to travel.

I wouldn't change my job today, but I don't know about tomorrow. Maybe something related to art, but it could also be on the other side, not on stage. I would really like to voice a big beautiful animated children's film. Some characteristic character from it. I wouldn't change it today.

I want to hear, that people talk about me: „That they would gladly work with me and I am definitely their person, choice, they would gladly work with me.“

I try to have a positive attitude, not to take myself too seriously (one of the great lessons from the great Stefan Danailov to us, his students) to use my sense of humor. After all, I am an actress, not a heart surgeon, to use my sense of humor.

To be well-meaning and to strive to listen and hear others, not to be a slave to your ego.

Money is important. But it is not the most important. For me, time and information are much more valuable resources than money. Money is a means to happiness, not a reason for happiness. If they provide you with better health and a better life, then yes. I have enough money when I can afford everything I need without worrying. Everything else is love, Money is important. But it is not the most important and everything else is love.

Career advice - maybe this, for people to have a serious attitude towards their work, but also not to forget to have fun and not to take themselves too seriously, to have a serious attitude towards their work, but also not to forget to have fun.
