The child's smile is a mirror of your successful career
· Biser Kunev

A toxic environment can be recognized even during a job interview with the right questions!
Introduce yourself in a few words..
My name is Biser Kunev, author of https://careerdailynews.com/ - a modern and intuitive career media,
created entirely with artificial intelligence. The platform combinesinteresting opportunities for
building and presenting personal, corporate, and employer branding, through
content generation in 10 different categories. It also develops as storytelling
for career philosophy, experience, and inspiration.
In my career development, I have managed projects in the field
of “Marketing and Advertising” and “Human Resources” and I have been a radio and television
host.
How would you describe your career in a few words?
Like a surreal movie, where the main character (Me) is
cloned at least 10 more times and I am simultaneously everywhere, and at night we all
gather in one place to analyze the work done and outline
short-term and long-term plans, in which tempo and
improvisation are never lacking.
What was
the most important choice that shaped your path Inyou?
To have a quality choice, you must have previously created
multiple options to choose from. In my case, these options
have always been numerous, and it was necessary to seriously weigh the situations,
to assess what is best for me. In this regard, perhaps,
the most important choice for me was – whether to study full-time or part-time for my higher education.
Without hesitation, I chose part-time, and during those 5 years of study, I managed to accumulate
valuable experience and contacts. During this period, besides graduating from UNSS with
the specialty “Economics of Mass Media” (bachelor's and master's), I also worked at
several places – Central Cooperative Bank, host of several external productions
(produced by my brother Stefan Kunev) at the radios “Vitosha” and “99”, television “MM”
(I had a show for 1 year together with Desi Banova-Plevnelieva). Meanwhile, I presented
radio and TV appearances to advertisers from various fields, as we
were self-sufficient. In the remaining few hours of the day, I hosted a live rock
chart for BG music “The Library Top 7”, attended events and …studied! Sleep?
A piece of advice to young people – don’t oversleep and don’t waste your time aimlessly,
there is time for everything.
What would you like to know at the beginning of your career,
but no one told you?
I wish I had known that not all people are honest, with clear
and open intentions. I always approach with trust, I learned to forgive and
mistakes. A person should live in the present, the past is irreversible and whatever happened
somewhere there, stays there. It is important what happens today, as well as what
will happen tomorrow.
How can a person
understand which profession is suitable for them?
When a person is in their student years, they should not
limit themselves in any way regarding the choice of profession. They should not
listen to anyone's advice, but try everything that brings them satisfaction,
until they discover their true calling. They need to feel it from within.
Even if they need to make a drastic change, they should not hesitate to be brave to
make it.
However, once they choose what their main profession will be, they must
make a serious effort to constantly improve and be among the best in
their field.
Which skills
according to Inyour opinion will be key in the next 10 years?
One skill has been valuable before and now and will always be valuable – and that is to be adaptable to any situations and challenges. Alongside this, it is good to learn to communicate with everyone, to be emotionally
intelligent, to learn to listen and hear our interlocutors and to respect
people, regardless of differences. These are key skills, whatever we do.
How to
build a network of useful contacts without appearing interested?
We need to be sincere, to be ourselves and not play
roles, otherwise we will certainly lose at a moment when we have convinced ourselves that we have correctly assessed our stage of performance.
What is
the biggest mistake you have made in your career and what did you learn from
it?
If someone says they have not made mistakes, perhaps that is
their biggest delusion. My biggest mistake is that I did not continue with
entrepreneurship from my early years and at one point I wanted to
prove to myself that I could reach positions that seemed to me
peak professional performance. And when I reached them, I understood the meaning of “Once
an entrepreneur, always an entrepreneur”.
How to
recognize a toxic work environment and when is it time to leave?
The toxic environment is best recognized during job interviews. With a few precise questions, you understand everything and …you simply do not start in that company, regardless of any tempting conditions. The monkey's D shines even without entering the cage. If you enter, the problem is with you.
What would you
do differently if you could start over?
I would sleep even less. A young person and sleep are two extremely
incompatible things.
How to
maintain your motivation in times of stagnation?
We should not allow ourselves such situations of
stagnation. I have a personal saying that “While we wait for someone to help us, we
should act and help ourselves”. Boldly forward, the path may be thorny, but
keep going and do not look back.
How to
achieve a balance between professional and personal life?
For me, the two things are one whole and I do not think about it
at all. It is important to be a support for our family and loved ones and not to complain about
anything. And even more importantly, to dedicate them enough time, regardless of
our professional commitments. Even if it means “Half of us works,
the other half enjoys with the family”.
When is it time
to change our career, not just the job?
When our current profession does not bring us satisfaction,
regardless of the choice of workplace and company.
If you had to
give only one piece of advice to people seeking success, what would it be?
Do not seek anything, if you move forward and follow your intuition
and beliefs, you will reach where you want. Even if you do not like where you are
at the moment, you have chosen this path yourself. No one is to blame.
What is Inyour definition of “successful career”?
Every single moment when you have fun with your family,
your children. A career is successful when, at the end of the day, your children have climbed
on you to wrestle and have fun and you do not care about anything else at that
moment. The child's smile is a mirror of your successful career!
