Every day at www.CareerDailyNews.com, in the section “Career News“, we will address a different workplace issue – one that affects both employees and employers. We will not only raise questions for reflection but also give management in every company a reason to pay attention and make specific decisions. Our goal is simple – to bring to light those topics that are usually kept silent in the office and turn them into a tool for change and development.
Today's topic is:
“We want our children to go far – but how far have we
come?”
Every parent dreams of a better future for their children. We tell them “study to become a person”, “do what you love” or “look for better work”. But if we stop for a moment and look around – where are we in our own career development? Why do we often expect our children to achieve more than we ourselves are willing to try?
In professional life, we often settle: with inadequate salary, with work that does not inspire us, or with lack of development. We have convinced ourselves that “this is the situation” and “there is no point in fighting”. At the same time, we insist that our children believe in endless possibilities and pursue their dreams. This difference in messages is alarming: we live in compromise, while we want them to chase perfection.
The truth is that our children do not learn only from our words, but mainly from our example. If they see us tired, discouraged, and dissatisfied with our work, what message do they receive? That success is unattainable? That one must resign? Or that dreams are for the young, but life always breaks them?
If we want their future to be different, we must start with ourselves. We need to rethink our path, to ask the question: "What else do I want to achieve?" and "What is preventing me from taking the next step?" Only then will the message to our children be authentic – that change is possible and efforts are worthwhile.
It is not fair to ask our children to pursue dreams that we have discarded along the way. If we want them to have courage, to develop, and to achieve more, we must first show that this is possible. Our career development is not just our personal choice, but an example and legacy that we leave behind. The question is: are we ready to be role models, and not just a source of advice?
Everyone is silent about the problems in the office. We examine each one of them!
