Today's topic is:
“Do not deceive yourself – we all work for money”
Every job interview starts with questions about motivation, development, team culture, and "growth opportunities." And somewhere at the end, almost in passing, the topic of compensation is touched upon. Usually, employers and human resources specialists insist that salary "is not the most important thing." But is it really so? Or is this thesis a convenient myth that obscures the most essential reason why we get up in the morning and head to work?
Yes, a pleasant atmosphere, development, and a balance between personal and professional life are important. But let's be honest: without adequate compensation, all of this loses its meaning. No one goes to work because they enjoy spending time in the office or proving themselves to their bosses – we go to work to earn money.
All
arguments that "money is not the most important thing" sound beautiful, but they hide the harsh
reality: when the bills arrive at the end of the month, it doesn't matter how
good the team building was or how "inspiring" the corporate mission is.
Life is measured in expenses – food, housing, health, education, travel. And
the only way to afford them is through salary.
If the workplace
does not offer decent pay, everything else is secondary. Even
the most loyal and enthusiastic employee will leave if their work is not valued
fairly. Otherwise, we are talking about exploitation, hidden behind beautiful
slogans.
There is no need to pretend. Yes, it is nice to love our job, to grow in our career, and to feel valued. But the foundation upon which all of this stands is the salary. Everyone works for money – and this is not a cynical acknowledgment, but simply a truth that it is time to speak about without hesitation. The sooner employers stop underestimating this fact, the more sustainable their teams will be.
Everyone is silent about the problems in the office. We examine each one of them!
